Detailed Itinerary of the 8 Days Serengeti Wildebeest Migration Tour

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport

You drop at the Arusha International Airport where our driver guide meets you then transfer you to your lodge or hotel in Arusha. Depending on the time you arrive, you shall have ample time to relax and prepare for the adventure. Dinner and Overnight at Serengeti Villa Arusha.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Breakfast then get your luggage and the driver guide will pick you up to transfer to Tarangire National Park. The journey takes you a period of two and a half hours via good tarmac roads. The park was named after River Tarangire which traverses the park. The Park includes herds of elephant as well as giraffes, bushbuck and hartebeest. You shall watch predators  too i.e lions and leopards as well as many bird species that are fond of flying around their natural forest habitat. Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park

You transfer for a period of 2 to 3 hours with a brief stop at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. When you reach Ngorongoro, you shall enjoy Game Drives watching many wildlife animals along the Ngorongoro Crater breaking thirst. Later after the Game Drive, you shall proceed to Serengeti from the South.

On reaching Serengeti National Park, enjoy views of the vast open grasslands, wildlife animals such as impalas, buffaloes, crocodiles and hippos as well as predators like lions, cheetahs and leopards.

Day 4: Central to the North in Search of the Great Migration

Breakfast in the morning then wind through the Serengeti towards the Northern region of the park where you watch many wildlife animals like wildebeest, zebra and antelope which are fond of moving annually in search of fresh grazing grounds. On reaching here, you shall witness herds traversing the Mara River from July to September before heading South in October. Day 5: Northern Serengeti National Park

Breakfast then proceed to the Northern Part of Serengeti National Park. The terrain landscape is different in this part of the Serengeti consisting of hills, riverine forests, plains and rocky outcrops. The prominent Mara River  traverses through this area, providing the setting for the mind-blowing river crossing you may enjoy during your time here.

When the river crossings begin, you shall witness more than two million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of zebra, antelope attempt to traverse the Mara River looking for fresh grazing grounds and water. As they attempt to traverse the River, predators like lions, hyenas, leopards, cheetahs and Nile crocodiles do not make it any easier for them. Day 6: Northern to Central Serengeti National Park

En-route, you shall have scenic views of the green terrain, wildlife animals until you reach the Seronera Region known to have various wildlife animals wander around their natural vegetation habitat.

You shall embark on Game Drive as you traverse from one track to another watching wildlife animals like spotted hyena, Black-backed jackal, African golden wolf, honey badger, striped hyena, caracal, serval, banded mongoose, Elephant, giraffe, impala, waterbuck, hippo, topi, reedbuck, buffalo and baboon etc. After the Game Drive, you shall get to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Breakfast in the morning then with your luggage embark on journey from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey gives you views of the green terrain, bird species and wildlife animals till you reach Ngorongoro Crater in the afternoon.

Ngorongoro Crater is a pristine wilderness inclusive of steep volcanic walls, sweeping savannahs, pockets of acacia woodland, glistening lakes and swamps. The crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago. The drive down into the crater is an adventure in itself, and when you reach the crater floor, you quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. The crater provides the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands. Day 8: Departure to Arusha

Breakfast in the morning then with your luggage, embark on transfer to Arusha. Along the way, you shall have a Game Drive watching wildlife wander around their natural forest habitat. The wildlife animals you watch include; lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and black rhino), as well as wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, giraffes etc. After a while, you shall reach Arusha and transfer to hotel or the Arusha International Airport to board flight back home.
